It is hard to believe that my daughter will be 15 years old soon. During the summer of 2003, I was excitedly browsing baby clothes at the local Gymboree store right across the street from our apartment. We didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl, but I sure was excited to find out and start shopping. After my daughter arrived in August, sure enough, I started making the first of many many trips to Gymboree to buy her everything from newborn layette outfits to sleepers to dresses and playclothes.
Now, I’ve dressed both of my kids in Gymboree (both my daughter and her little brother) for basically their entire childhoods (sadly, my son just grew out of the top size!). My kids love to look through old photo albums of themselves and it is funny how many Gymboree outfits appear throughout our albums–everything from newborn onesies to my daughter’s toddler party dresses to my son’s elementary school picture day outfits. Reliving all of these great memories is definitely something that makes our family smile–and I know that for many other families, occasions where your children were wearing Gymboree also #MadeYouSmile.
Of course, everyone likes their favorite brands and stores to “refresh” every so often, so I think you’ll be pleased to know that Gymboree has “re-launched” itself as an all-new, totally-reimagined brand, complete with new retail stores!
Here’s all that new and exciting at Gymboree, timed just right for back-to-school shopping:
- Fresh styling. You’ll notice that the clothing is less “babyish” and now trendier–though still totally age appropriate.
- Increased versatility and mixability of different lines.
- Increased softness and attention to detail–they’ve upped both the quality and the comfort level (especially important for those of us who have kid swith sensory issues).
- New jeans–super comfortable, soft and durable.
- New baby clothing lines with more neutrals (the days of just pink for girls and just blue for boys are behind us) and modern details.
- Newly designed stores! I took a peek inside our local one and it looks terrific.
- And, what’s best of all, all of these changes were made by Gymboree in response to extensive feedback from parents like you.
Here are some of my favorite new clothing pieces from the new Gymboree:
Girl’s Heart Striped Dress – Sky Blue Stripe ($34.50, 0-3mos to 3T). I’m a huge fan of striped cotton poplin (both for little girls and moms) and this dress is a cool and comfy winner that will easily take your daughter from summer into early Fall. Love the detail embroidery, ruffled sleeves, and, of course, the adorable diaper cover.
Boy’s Stripe Hoodie – Heather Grey ($34.50m, big boys sizes XS-XL). Made from 100% French terry cotton, this stylish and practical hoody features pieced jersey stripes, handy front pockets, and a supersoft interior.
With back-to-school somehow just around the corner in certain parts of country, now’s the time to start exploring all that’s new at Gymboree, both in-store and online. Remember, too, that all orders include Free shipping Over $50 + Free Returns. And congrats to Gymboree on its re-launch!
